About Us:
Equine Sports and Health is owned and operated by Debb Riesse.  She has been riding and involved with horses for over 25 years.  As a child she rode with Spring Valley/Autumn Ridge Pony Club and fox hunted with Spring Valley hounds. 

At Averret College she pursued a degree in Equestrian Science and Biology. She worked as a small animal veterinary technician and then went back to school for her Veterinary Technology degree at S.U.N.Y. Delhi.  After graduation she took a job at University of Pennsylvania’s College of Veterinary Medicine, New Bolton Center, where she was a neonatal intensive care nurse. 

She then moved on to North Carolina’s College of Veterinary Medicine and worked with the nursing staff in the large animal clinic.  She started teaching riding lessons in 1998 and worked at Camp Kanata as an instructor. In addition, she ran a boarding stable and continued teaching private lessons. 

Next was a move to central Maryland where she managed a horse farm and worked as a surgery technician for the Marion Dupont Scott Equine Medical Center in Leesburg, Virginia. Interested in massage therapy, she obtained her certification in equine sports massage therapy with Equissage in Round Hill Va.  

Horses have been a driving force throughout her life and combining her many years of experience and skills into her own equine focused business is the fulfillment of her lifetime.
